I am Kimberly Watkins, founder of The Eventz Team offering to learners and beginners training for Interns/Externs and & Assistant Planners. We will listen and give you guidance tailored to you specific requirements and to give advice and opinion on an issue you may have come across when either learning the know hows of events planning or the first steps to getting to the next training level of your work experience. Our job is not to ‘tell you what to do’ but to guide you though our training with understanding, We know that there are sound boards for your ideas, We will guide you thought the process so you will make sensible decisions in your new journey in the field.
Knowledge Is The Beginning of Wisdom
There is no secret starting and learning to be an event/wedding planner in industry, you have to have a passion for it to enjoy it, understanding it takes time, energy, money out of your pocket. ( As they say: you have to spend money order to make more money in business) When I first started out, I was in exactly in the same shoes as you. I was starting out, trying to get my ‘foot in the door’ , took few classes and all type of workshops ( Some workshops had nothing to do with event planning and design) to build my knowledge on how to plan and learn more about the industry and the business, (which is great way of learning about the industry by the way) I searched for hands-on experience or even wish to have a personal mentor while building my brand, – no job openings, met a few planners in the industry that didn’t ‘fight fair’ or so I thought. I wasted a lot of precious time “figuring it all out” and wished that there had been a professional mentor – to really help me through the ups and downs of starting out my first 3 years in business.
So, trust me when I say this- I made and learn from my mistakes and so will you once you get on this road. There is blood, sweat and tears but there was also an intense internal satisfaction, joy that came from out of it and having a great support is that came from a few family- friends alone the way is great but having someone who really understands and know the ins and outs of how to get started and what it takes. In any business no matter how much we think we know, we all need a some help alone the way. It's a great thing to have someone to hold us accountable for both the short term and the long road ahead.
This is one reason why I created The Eventz Team Company and the Event Hero's Collective for our members. As your industry trainers of The Eventz Team, We are here to support you through each step of your training.
